LeylaDaze It's like Bowie, Lou Reed, and Sting had a hippie child and teleported them to a future world with crystal clean production value. So enveloping. Teddy's voice transports me right back to those golden artists of rock who stood out experimentally against the mainstream. I can't wait to see what's next from this desert legend. Favorite track: Flutterby.

Flutterby 05:00
I saw you in your butterfly dress I knew I wanted you to make a mess of me Wreck my bed Take my head some warm, mysterious place I long to be inside you upside down and all around one foot in the grave and one on your sacred ground My rubber legs bow to beg you Please don’t ever let them get you We started out so pure so sure of who we were We must never ever play their game Never let it be said that we became more of the same This is important to me If anything matters at all it must be Trust me If we don't give everything we're nothing nothing worth keeping nothing worth saving

Martin 03:22
I couldn’t sleep at all last night I wouldn’t face the morning light Something told me, “Get out in the sunlight” Frightened what I might find if I stayed inside I want to walk through this life standing tall but a wise man said, “Before you’re big you must be small” I want to walk this path led my my heart never fall to pieces when the heartaches start “No more hurting people” If you can believe in a song “Why can’t we all get along?” I know it’s been said before Maybe it just needs to be said some more I know it’s a lot to ask I don’t know if I’m up for the task I’m going to do the best I can to do unto the others like they’re my sisters and brothers “No more hurting people” A little child shall lead the way so listen to the words s/he’s saying Keep it in your heart and don’t forget Chant it like a mantra if it helps you remember, “No more hurting people”

Well she made her decision and she carried it the distance raised a lot of questions that don’t make any difference and I thought I knew her pretty well I thought I knew her better It goes to show a living hell can be pretty well hidden chorus And the unanswered questions are the most persistent and the unanswered prayers make me question the wisdom Well, you can’t expect everyone to carry on and you can’t get tomorrow back when it’s gone Sometimes you wake up on the wrong side of the bed and it’s so hard to shake off all the blankets from your head It feels like a cloud is following you around always threatening to burst but you still can’t quench your thirst chorus I heard about the girl from the Post Office this morning as I walked past the farmers with their fruit and their flowers and I would have brought them to her but it really wouldn’t matter Sometimes a little later is just the same as never chorus

Cockfighter 02:28
A full grown man a mannish boy rollin’ along with an old soul song gilded in gold I hope I get old before I die I’m the cock of the walk I don’t follow the flock I’m a cockfighter You led the way when you led me astray When you left me alone I learned to be strong gilded in gold I hope I get old before I die Got a crack in your beak You better think before you speak I’m a cockfighter All the saints went home O superstar of Bethlehem all the way from Avalon across the universe to Babylon gilded in gold I hope I get old before I die because you make your own luck Now listen to me cluck I’m a cockfighter

Black Rose 06:18
You touch a dark spot on my heart black rose It wasn’t formed to pull apart No one knows how I love you Life is cheap Troubles run so deep How do you sleep with the company you keep If you never know if you’re moving too fast or too slow which feelings you may outgrow or which directions to follow If you were mine in another space & time I could read between the lines & you could read my mind but I’m on an island where I must remain silent in peace & quiet apart from a world so loud & so violent Now roses are black I don’t want any change back I don’t care if i lose track what I hope to attract I’m in it for good I’d be there with you if i could if you tell me you would let me drive into your neighborhood

Walking barefoot in the desert walking barefoot for you on a lovely spring morning and I know if you could you'd be out here walking too stopping to see all the flowers and pull out a thorn or two pulling it all out for you - putting it out there and I know that you're going to pull through I'm running my hands through your long brown hair my fingers over your eyes I know they've been crying - mine have been too Every day they grow a little more wise and childlike Childlike I could tell when you answered the phone you're not used to having no choice I know you're ready to come back home I can hear the longing in your voice so childlike That beautiful boy and that brave little girl were playing with the robots one day The animatrons were dancing You should hear the music they play He was showing her all around the place a gentle little man I can see she's a strong little girl and she's growing up as fast as she can childlike Childlike Playing my guitar for you thinking of those big brown eyes awakening to a brand new world every day a little more wise and childlike

I come before you who’ve gone before me I stand on your shoulders to see where I’m going Ghosts on the road carry me home Ghosts on the road carry me home Grandfathers, Grandmothers Mothers and Fathers Brothers and Sisters and all of our ancestors Ghosts on the road carry me home Ghosts on the road carry me home I don’t look behind me I don’t look below me I don’t look above me to see where I’m going Ghosts on the road carry me home Ghosts on the road carry me home Where I was born I did not belong I never once questioned the path I was on Ghosts on the road carry me home Ghosts on the road carry me home Grandfathers, Grandmothers Mothers and Fathers Brothers and Sisters and all of our ancestors Ghosts on the road carry me home Ghosts on the road carry me home

If I take you as far as you want will you take me for all of my flaws If I will take you as you are can you take me for all of my faults I do see you as a star Will you take me with a taste of salt Just be glad we happen at all Just be glad we happen at all How do you find someone to love - (Easy) How do you know when you’ve had enough - (Listen) How do you get to Carnegie Hall - (Practice) Just be glad it matters at all Just be glad it matters at all I’m gazing into the precipice I’m pondering existence I’m practicing but I’m not perfect I’m practicing acceptance I’m practicing but I’m not perfect I’m practicing acceptance

I’m driving a stolen car You don’t know me but I know who you are driving past in a blur in a comet like a meteor in search of the Goddess in this mess swallowing hard and spitting out bitterness I was in love with you but I didn’t know how to be as free as you are I’m still living the dream You got to die and tell me why Sometimes it makes me want to scream when I all the thieves in your temple lying through their teeth on the TV screen I must remember to eat I must remember to sleep I must remember to breathe Remember to make love Remember to make time for friends Remember to take time to be alone Remember there’s so much that we don’t know Remember remember Remember what gives us life Remember what gives us hope Remember what gives us courage Remember what gives our hearts joy Remember what gives inspiration Remember what gives us a reason to get out of bed in the morning to get through a day without crying to get to the night in one piece to remember what gives us peace Remember to love what we cannot stand Forget anyone that stands in the way of your plans I’m playing a pink guitar You don’t know them but they know who you are Last night the light we saw was a million years old just like you a shining star Remember to credit the source Go for a ride on your horse Remember may the force be within you but of course may you be without force Remember what breaks Remember what it takes to live Remember what it takes to remember what gives what gives what gives You are an avatar

about

Teddy Quinn, a former Child Star who fled Hollywood to find himself the “Musical Mayor of Joshua Tree,” launches his 12th album, his first on vinyl - “1.11” - November 11th and 12th, 2016 with two back to back events in the Hi Desert of Southern California.

Entitled “1.11” in homage to Quinn’s early hero David Bowie - in reference to the first day on Earth after his passing - the styles range from lyrical rock and roll and ambient to soul-infused folk and chamber pop, all held together by Quinn’s rich vocals. Pioneer of the Hi Desert Sound and vibrant music scene, Quinn made 2/3rds of his album LIVE at the infamous Beatnik Lounge with Jamie Hafler (Drug) mixing direct to 2 track analog tape and featuring desert-based musicians including Danny Frankel (Lou Reed), Jeff Boaz (Will Sexton), Tony Marsico (Bob Dylan, Neil Young) , singers Artemis and Edith Crash, guitar goddess Leslie Mariah Andrews, members of Arroyo Rogers, Honky Tonk Train, Phog Masheen and the Renderers, and Quinn’s 11 year old son, Sage, on drums on the closing track. The album is rounded out by collaborations with electronic artists Cätcät (Paris), Lee Scott (LA) and Quinn’s 1980’s (Telekin) bandmate Don Kaiser (San Francisco.)
