about

This is another of the many songs I wrote with Johnny Vargas in the period of 1994-95, which led to my collaborating with Tony Mason. At one point Johnny and I loss of communication and Johnny left the recording project we'd begun with Fred. Tony was called in to replace Johnny's guitar with his own. I think this song illustrates Johnny's gift for melody, which is only natural since he is such an avid lover of music, whom I'd met as a young teenager, shopping in a store called Record Paradise on Hollywood Boulevard, beginning a long and sometimes rocky friendship which has lasted close to 50 years, including a band we had together in th mid 80s called the New Flesh.
